Crufts 2018 – What’s On – Thursday 8 March

Highlights
Eukanuba Stakes finals – Main Arena – 5:30 pm
Junior Warrant competition final – Main Arena – 6:15 pm
Group judging (Working Group) & presentation – Main Arena – 6:35 pm
Group judging (Pastoral Group) & presentation – Main Arena – 7:25 pm
Inter-Regional Rally Competition followed by Obreedience Competition (4:30 pm onwards) – Obedience Ring, Hall 5
Vulnerable Native Breeds
The Kennel Club is concerned with protecting those breeds of dog which are of British origin and are considered to be vulnerable, ie achieve 300 or fewer registrations each year in the UK.
According to the latest list, these are the VNB’s which will be exhibiting at Crufts on Thursday:
- Bearded Collie (Hall 1, Ring 7/8)
- Bullmastiff (Hall 5, Ring 32)
- Smooth Collie (Hall 1, Ring 5)
- Lancashire Heeler (Hall 4, Ring 21)
- Mastiff (Hall 5, Ring 28)
- Old English Sheepdog (Hall 4, Ring 19)
- Cardigan Welsh Corgi (Hall 4, Ring 18)
Category 3 breeds
The Kennel Club has highlighted a number of breeds as ‘category 3’ on Breed Watch; these breeds have been considered to be more susceptible to developing specific health conditions associated with exaggerated conformation. The Best of Breeds in category 3 have to pass a vet check before they are allowed to participate in the Group.
