The Kennel Club is concerned with protecting those breeds of dog which are of British origin and are considered to be vulnerable, ie achieve 300 or fewer registrations each year in the UK.

According to the latest list, these are the VNB’s which will be exhibiting at Crufts on Saturday:

  • English Toy Terrier (Hall 4, Ring 20)
  • King Charles Spaniel (Hall 5, Ring 32)
Category 3 breeds

The Kennel Club has highlighted a number of breeds as ‘category 3’ on Breed Watch; these breeds have been considered to be more susceptible to developing specific health conditions associated with exaggerated conformation. The Best of Breeds in category 3 have to pass a vet check before they are allowed to participate in the Group.
